Meet the band
THE MUSICIANS BEHIND THE IRON MAIDEN TRIBUTE EXPERIENCE
Maiden United is made up of seasoned professional musicians based in Los Angeles, California — each a lifelong Iron Maiden fan, each bringing deep individual credentials to one of the West Coast’s most in-demand heavy metal tribute acts. Together they deliver a live experience rooted in precision, passion, and an obsessive commitment to the Iron Maiden catalog.
Rich Abronson
Guitars, Backing Vocals
Portraying the role of guitarist Adrian Smith, Rich discovered Iron Maiden’s Number of the Beast at summer camp in the early 1980s and has been a Trooper Head ever since. The idea for Maiden United originated during the pandemic — though the roots stretch back to his first high school band, which was already covering the classics. Since those early days, Rich has performed with a number of original hard rock acts including LAMF, It’s Me Margaret, and Dead End Sky, and founded the popular grunge-era tribute X-Nation. He also developed a significant portion of Maiden’s set list in a previous local Iron Maiden tribute before channeling that experience into founding Maiden United.
Victor Wichmann
Lead Vocals
Victor Wichmann brings rare range and stagecraft to the Maiden United lineup. A professionally trained orchestral and rock vocalist, Victor placed 5th on the Brazilian reality series The Voice Rock in 2017 and maintains an active international roster as a vocal coach. He currently splits his time between teaching and fronting Metalachi — the wildly popular metal-mariachi mashup act. With a five-octave range and the performance intensity Iron Maiden fans demand, Victor made his Maiden United stage debut in April 2026, bringing an immediate credibility and energy to the band’s live show.
Scott Ramsay
Guitars, Backing Vocals
Portraying the role of guitarist Dave Murray, Scott has performed on guitar across multiple original and tribute acts and brings a lifelong Maiden obsession to every show. He first saw Iron Maiden on the Piece of Mind tour and has not missed an L.A. stop since — including three of four nights at the Long Beach Arena recorded for the Live After Death album. It was Scott who gave Maiden United its name, drawing on Iron Maiden founder Steve Harris’ connection to West Ham United F.C. — a name that has since come to stand for something broader: the unity of Iron Maiden fans everywhere.
Danny Knapp
Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals
Known affectionately within the band as “Steve Hairless” — a nod to Iron Maiden’s iconic bassist Steve Harris and Danny’s equally iconic lack of hair — Danny is a Southern California-based professional musician specializing in electric and fretless bass. What he lacks in flowing locks he more than makes up for in technical command, delivering Harris’ signature gallop bass lines while simultaneously providing vocal harmonies. Beyond Maiden United, Danny performs with original emo/alternative band We’re No Gentlemen, ska act The Goodwin Club, and several other Los Angeles-based projects. He is an official endorsed artist for Sandberg Guitars, S.I.T. Strings, Schroeder Cabinets, and Pig Hog Cables.
Adrian Aguilar
Drums
Adrian joined Maiden United in 2024 and also serves as the hard-hitting drummer for Southern California thrash metal act Exmortus. His origin story is one of music from the very beginning — as documented by Sick Drummer Magazine:
“Adrian Aguilar grew up in Covina, California. He began playing drums at age 3 due to his upbringing being heavily involved in music. His brothers played saxophone and other instruments, and his father played guitar. His father, being a huge music lover, exposed Adrian to many genres of music, ranging from blues to classical music. Santana was the family favorite and was played religiously throughout the house, which caught Adrian’s ear and inspired him to pick up the drums. While his father would practice guitar to Santana by the stereo, Adrian would set up pots and pans next to him and jam away using chopsticks for drumsticks. He received his first drum set at age 5 and has mainly been self-taught.”
